Young Professional Trip to Tlaquepaque

We’re taking a young professional trip to our sister city of Tlaquepaque, Mexico from Mon., Oct. 31-Sat., Nov. 5, 2022.

On the trip, you’ll get to tour Tlaquepaque and meet some of our artisan and musician friends, take a day trip to Tequila for a distillery tour and tastings, and experience Dia de los Muertos traditions. In partnership with Tlaquepaque’s Chamber of Commerce, we’ll also match you with a peer in your field to job shadow!

The cost of the trip is $1,900 which includes your airfare, your stay at a boutique hotel (voted #11 of best small hotels in all of Mexico by Trip Advisor), group activities and transportation, and most meals.

If you need a little help, you can apply for a partial scholarship! Priority is given to applications that demonstrate financial need and a commitment to engage with Sister Cities and our mission of “Peace Through People.” Apply by Wed., Aug. 31 for priority consideration.

You might also consider asking your employer for help or to allow you some paid time off; your participation in the trip may be in line with your company’s diversity and inclusion goals. Here is a letter from our president and a list of trip goals that you can share with your employer.

This trip will be a lot of fun and a great addition to your resume! Please let us know if you have any questions or plan on coming. You can fill out our travel interest form or contact Lisa Bakerink, lbakerink@springfieldmo.gov, 417-864-1341. The first payment is due Wed., Aug. 31!
