Springfield Sister Cities Association proudly presents Taste of Tlaquepaque: Colorful Mexico on Friday, October 8, 2021 beginning at 7 p.m. at The Diamond Room, 2340 W. Grand St., Springfield, Mo. The event is a celebration of Springfield’s 18-year-old sister city relationship with Tlaquepaque (tuh-lah-kay-pah-kay), Jalisco, Mexico.
This year’s party brings accomplished Tlaquepaque musicians Paco Padilla, Javier Iniguez, Jesus Cervantes, Enrique Quezada and Antonio Pun who will provide the evening’s entertainment. They are joined by renowned Mexican folk artisan Mr. Gerardo Ortega and his wife Gaby. Mr. Ortega’s colorful artwork serves as the featured décor and is available to take home via the silent auction.
Enjoy hors d’uoerves, cocktails and opportunities to forge friendships across cultures. Dancing and singing is encouraged; attire is festive.
Tickets are $55 and include a drink ticket. Sponsorships start at $300 and include admission to the pre-party event for some extra time with the special guests. Sponsor at $1,500 or more for access to the private patron party on Thursday, October 7.
