SSCA and the Springfield Botanical Center will host the second Sushi & Sake tasting event at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Choose a dozen pieces from a Sushi Bar of house favorites made fresh onsite by Koji Kitchen, the popular food truck operated by MoMo Sushi & Grill in south Springfield.
Enjoy your sushi with a sampling of four types of sake curated and described for this event. (Japanese beer will be available for sale.)
Also included with your ticket is a choice of MoMo’s delicious desserts: Matcha Tiramisu, created with the vibrant Japanese green tea powder; Yuzu Lemon Tart flavored by the fragrant East Asian fruit; or a Coconut Milk Panna Cotta for anyone sensitive to dairy products.

Authentic music will be provided by Dianne Daugherty, a Kansas City-based scholar on Japanese folklore and performing arts. She plays Japan’s national instrument, the koto, a long, stringed zither that creates distinctive versions of authentic to contemporary music.
Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy strolling the garden at dusk before it opens for the season on April 1.
This event is SOLD OUT.
Net proceeds will be used for enhancement and maintenance of the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden.
