SSCA presents at MSU Statewide Collaborative Diversity Conference

SSCA is partnering with Springfield Public Schools (SPS) and the English Language Institute (ELI) to present “Bringing the world’s schools to Springfield’s Schools” on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 3:40 – 5:30 p.m. This panel presentation will be part of Missouri State University Division for Diversity and Inclusion’s Statewide Collaborative Diversity Conference occurring April 18-19, 2013, at Plaster Student Union and features SSCA board members Dr. Robert Jones, MSU, Nancy Schneider, SPS, and SSCA coordinator Cindy Jobe.

This collaboration provides important cross-cultural inter-connections for students from all backgrounds and grade levels. A longstanding partnership between SSCA and SPS now includes a new, vital partnership with ELI, which is advancing the promise of cultural competence by bringing large numbers of middle and high school students to Springfield from Isesaki, Japan. The result of these relationships includes increased cultural awareness for many young people in the schools. The nature and devices of these ongoing partnerships will be the focus of this panel discussion.
