53 people (44 students) arrived from Isesaki on Friday, August 3. This group will be in Springfield for 10 days, where Kazumi Holcomb, Mika Logan, Jane Robinson, and others have planned every detail of their stay.
Upon their arrival, there was a brief orientation for the group, and Nakato’s Japanese Restuarant generously provided food the welcome reception.
The next morning, the Kinzuna (bond) group performed traditional Japanese dancing for Springfield children at Moxie Morning.
The students will enjoy a welcome picnic with their host families at the Japanese Stroll Garden on Sunday, and on Friday night, August 10th, 6:00 p.m. at the Creamery Arts Center in Jordan Valley Park will demonstrate hands-on activities and other displays — so please stop by the Creamery for a fun multicultural experience!
